Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Mexico City Blue Demons home opener. Tai sun Rang started for the home team against Bennett Dodd for the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC. The Blue Demons were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 7-6, Thunder Bay, in 15 innings. Gerald Hartnell, though, was impressive.

Thunder Bay won the game in part because of Brett Taylor. The designated hitter ripped a solo home run in the top of the 15th inning to put the Northern Lions BC ahead, 7-6. For the game, Taylor had 1 double and 1 home run in 6 at-bats.

"There's no quit in this team," said Northern Lions BC manager Scott Williams.
