Blue Demons Get Past Thunder Bay for 3-2 Win
|
The Mexico City Blue Demons defeated the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 3-2, in part because of second baseman Ángel Soto. Soto was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Blue Demons. The win went to Bryan Massey in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Robert Cote took the loss. The win gives Mexico City a record of 2-1.
Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 24-year old shortstop Ooze Abraham Siebert had a chance to be the hero. Thunder Bay pitcher Robert Cote wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Siebert hit a sacrifice fly. The Blue Demons had themselves a thrilling win.
Siebert called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
