Starting pitcher Ron Gunther pitched well enough to help the Nova Scotia Leviathan beat the Mexico City Blue Demons, 4-3. Dan Cortés picked up the win in relief for Nova Scotia, while John McGrath took the loss. The loss puts Mexico City at 2-4.

Brian Orpen was the walk-off hero for Nova Scotia. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Leviathan left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"This place was rocking at the end," Orpen said.
