Weaver Hits 2 home runs in Battery Win
|
The Charleston Battery downed the D.C. Divided, 6-4, at Charleston Armory. Christian Weaver led the way, going 3-for-4 for Charleston. Mario Rosales, 3-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. The Battery are now 20-12.
Weaver had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a first pitch fastball from Lou Thompson, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Battery a 6-4 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Weaver.
Charleston manager Matt Hunt praised his team's "energy."
