Mockingbirds Stumble, Lose to Rainbow Mermaids
Northern Virginia first baseman José Mondragon contributed significantly to his team's 8-4 win over the Memphis Mockingbirds. Mondragon, who finished 2nd in the PL in batting average with .309 last year, went 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Rainbow Mermaids. Northern Virginia sits in last place in the Premier League at 8-18.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Markus Lund? The Northern Virginia right fielder had a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put the Rainbow Mermaids on top, 3-0. For the game, Lund had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
