|
New Orleans Voodoo starter Soong-yong Yi pitched his team past the Toledo Stingers, 5-2. Jared Wilson was called on to finish, recording his 9th save. The win puts the Voodoo at 15-13, while the Stingers drop to 17-11.
New Orleans used a clutch at-bat from Joe Madden to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Voodoo ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Soong-yong is good at sticking to his strengths," said New Orleans manager Chase Sims.
