Ghosts Earn 4-3 Win Versus Farmers
|
Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Lancaster Farmers home opener. Garry Bennett started for the home team against Scott Goff for the Casper Ghosts. The Farmers were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 4-3, Casper. Garry Bennett, though, was impressive. Casper reliever Maxwell Powers picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Fjodor Ishemgujin took the loss. Hai-feng Zhu picked up the save for Casper, his 1st of the year.
Frank Douglas provided a timely hit. The Casper right fielder delivered a bases-clearing triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Ghosts on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"Both teams played hard," said Casper manager Jerry Duke.
