Toledo pitcher Joe Preston had a large part in his team beating the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas, 6-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winning pitcher was Preston, now 1-0. He tossed 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 3. The victory makes Toledo 2-0.

Toledo shortstop Ted Tribe contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the third. With two down, he hit a changeup to left-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 2nd hit of the season and put the Saboteurs ahead, 3-0.
