Big Day for Witt as Red Pandas Down Hot Chickens, 8-1
The exploits of catcher Ryan Witt helped the Sioux Falls Red Pandas defeat the Nashville Hot Chickens, 8-1. Witt went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 5. Sioux Falls pitcher David Rubin earned the win, hiking his record to 2-0. Wendell Latham suffered the loss. With the win, Sioux Falls upped its record to 12-10.

The Hot Chickens had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Red Pandas going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old center fielder Greg Reese came to the plate. Reese hit a run-scoring double on a full count fastball from Nashville hurler Wendell Latham. It was Reese's 4th double of the year.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Reese.
