Raines drives in 4 runs to Fuel Lynx Offense
|
The performance of Tim Raines proved critical in helping Calgary beat Sioux Falls, 8-6. The Lynx third baseman was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Fernando Granja, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 1.2 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 3. Calgary is second in the Silver AAA with a record of 22-11.
In the top of the eighth, the Lynx grabbed the lead when Raines hit his 6th home run of the season. The grand slam home run off Rock DeVote made it 8-5, Calgary.
"It's not about individual awards," Raines told a Calgary Bulletin reporter after the game. "It's about winning championships. That's what we play for."
