Red Pandas Score Late to Upend Drummers, 8-4
|
Sioux Falls took on Tortolita in front of a lively crowd.
The Sioux Falls Red Pandas knocked off the Tortolita Drummers, 8-4, in USSL Triple A action at Drummers Ballpark. Sioux Falls pitcher and Cabaiguan, Cuba, native Ánibal Ramos had an outstanding performance. The 5th-place Red Pandas hiked their record to 16-18.
Sioux Falls used a clutch hit from Basilio Penni to snatch the win. The designated hitter belted a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Red Pandas ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was huge.
"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Ramos. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."
