Thrilling Victory Pushes Rainbeaus Win Streak to 20
|
The Kansas Rainbeaus topped the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, 5-3, in 10 innings at The Bamboo Forest. The game was highlighted by the performance of Kansas pitcher Terry Ward. The win was credited to 24-year old right-handed pitcher Michael Carlson in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Aukthya Shalabh took the loss. The Rainbeaus, now 36-8, have won 20 in a row.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the tenth, with the game tied, Nathan Dooley was at the plate when Kansas scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Rainbeaus to go in front, 4-3.
"This team is playing at a high level right now," said Rainbeaus manager Jorge Otero.
