Stingers 6-3 Victors Over Shredders
|
The Toledo Stingers defeated the Hollywood Shredders, 6-3, at Pacesetter Park. Viet Long was one of the standouts for Toledo. His 3 hits included 2 singles and 1 triple -- this in addition to the 1 run he scored and 3 he knocked in. Jacobim Mugatu got the win, improving to 2-0. He worked 7 innings, giving up 2 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Getting the save was Sam Myers, his 3rd.
With two out in the bottom of the third, Elijah Smalls put Toledo in front, 3-2, with a run-scoring single. The Stingers went on to win the ballgame.
"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Smalls told the Toledo Chronicle.
With the win, Toledo goes to 5-1.
