Hot Chickens Dealt 5-1 Loss
|
Philadelphia starter Javier Salinas kept the Nashville offense from doing much damage. The right-hander leaned on his fastball in leading the Liberty Reserves to a 5-1 win. In 7.1 innings, Salinas surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 4. He allowed 1 run. Philadelphia is 39-18 and Nashville, with the loss, 19-38.
In the top of the third, Carlos Martínez delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Philadelphia left fielder hit a 2-run double, putting the Liberty Reserves in front, 5-1.
"Javier was dictating to their hitters," said Philadelphia manager Kiril Neuvel.
