Philadelphia Sent Home with 5-3 Loss
|
The Monongahela Monsters dealt the Philadelphia Liberty Reserves a 5-3 loss at Liberty Reserve Stadium. Brian Coleman was the star on offense. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was Myung-woo Kang. His record now stands at 6-2. The left-hander went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits for the Monsters. Brad Pratly earned the save, his 6th, for the Monsters.
Monongahela used a big swing from Tim Anderson to get the win. The center fielder walloped a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Monsters up, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it changed the outcome.
"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Coleman.
The win makes Monongahela 40-20.
