Hot Chickens Get Past Florence, 3-2
|
Nashville right-hander Cash McBride helped his team edge Florence by the score of 3-2. McBride kept the opposing lineup in check. Franklin Paige claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. His record stands at 1-0. Picking up the save was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Marlon Anderson.
Nashville used a clutch hit from Ellis Oliver to snatch the win. The right fielder belted a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Hot Chickens ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was huge.
"Main thing is I want the team to win," McBride told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
The triumph makes Nashville 21-39.
