Mockingbirds Beaten By White Walkers, 5-4
|
Beyond the Wall was the site of a competitive game between the Memphis Mockingbirds and Buffalo White Walkers.
Behind a solid performance from left fielder Rob Jackson, the Buffalo White Walkers defeated the Memphis Mockingbirds, 5-4. Jackson was 2-3 with 2 doubles. He scored 3 runs for the White Walkers. Zander Daig got the win, improving to 5-2. He worked 6.1 innings, giving up 4 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. Jerome Field wrapped it up, recording his 3rd save.
The White Walkers got a big hit from third baseman Iverson Allen. In the bottom of the sixth, Allen smacked a 2-run double off Memphis pitcher Jang-jin Na. It was his 8th double of the season. Suddenly, the White Walkers were ahead, 5-4.
"We did enough to win," said Jackson.
Memphis has now lost 4 straight.
