Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Dave Cahill, the Tortolita Drummers defeated the Florence Flamingos, 8-4. Cahill was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for the Drummers. The Flamingos, at 33-38, have lost 6 straight games.

Cahill contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Tortolita in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 3-2, Cahill took a changeup from Gustavo Martínez and stroked the double to center. His 12th double of the season allowed the Drummers to leap in front, 4-3.
