Both teams had their chances, but the Tortolita Drummers eventually prevailed.

Michaelsoft Binbows, who is tied for 7th in the SAAA in home runs with 12, led Tortolita to a triumph over Syracuse. The final score was 6-5. The right fielder went 3 for 5, falling a triple shy of the cycle. He scored 2 runs and added 1 RBI. John Allen, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 13th save.

Tortolita used the timely hitting of Tse-peng Thian to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Drummers on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I believe in our guys," said Tortolita skipper Marcos Costa. "I like the energy they're playing with."

The Drummers now own a record of 43-50.
