Big Day for Lee: Swats 5 Hits
|
It was a sensational day at the plate for Lee Lee as he led the charge to a nifty 5-3 win over the Flamingos. The Kansas first baseman was pure misery for the Florence pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"Lee put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Nick Hoskins, manager for the Flamingos, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Lee Lee singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
For the season, Lee is currently batting .269 with 5 home runs and 33 RBIs. In 46 games he has reached base at a .339 rate and scored 27 runs to date.
