Starks Use Late Rally to Win
The Syracuse Starks withstood a fine game by Sioux Falls shortstop Fred Watkins at The Bamboo Forest, to upend the Red Pandas, 6-4. Watkins went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Syracuse reliever James Ellison picked up the win, upping his record to 4-4. Pepe Aguilar was saddled with the loss. The 7th-place Red Pandas have lost 4 straight games.

Carlos Sánchez came through with a big-time hit for Syracuse. The designated hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 6-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Solid performance from our side," said Starks manager Homer Robertson.
