Win Streak at 8 for Voodoo
|
The New Orleans Voodoo beat the Hollywood Shredders, 10-6, at The Hollywood Bowl. New Orleans shortstop Fred Burton led the way. He went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winning pitcher was 33-year old right-handed pitcher Alex Thompson. He tossed 101 pitches over 5.2 innings, allowing 5 runs on 7 hits. Jared Wilson nailed down his 18th save.
Mike Henshaw Jr. had a big 2-run double for the Voodoo in the top of the third inning. With New Orleans leading 4-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from Dustin Burgess, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2056 draft, and swatted a double to left. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Voodoo ahead, 6-1.
"We are some kind of hot right now," said Henshaw Jr..
Hollywood has now lost 4 consecutive games.
