The Ottawa Fat Cats withstood an impressive performance by Westwood designated hitter Brent Hawkins to defeat the Sixshooters, 6-4, at Nationals Park. Hawkins was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Ottawa reliever José Salazaro got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Justin MacBurie was tagged with the loss. The win puts Ottawa at 4-1.

Michael Dixon took Westwood hurler Justin MacBurie deep in the bottom of the third. His 3-run home run put the Fat Cats on top, 6-3. In all, Dixon had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
