Ponies Losers, 5-3, to Nova Scotia
|
The Nova Scotia Leviathan knocked off the Kingston Ponies, 5-3, in Menard's Third League action at Megaffin Park. Nova Scotia pitcher and Washington, District of Columbia, native Stan Carter had an outstanding performance. The winning pitcher was Carter, now 3-1. He tossed 8.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 4. Walt Gregory wrapped it up, recording his 3rd save.
Troy Frost dealt the Ponies a blow in the top of the fourth. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Nova Scotia leading 3-2, Frost, who leads the 3L in doubles with 16, hit a 0-1 curveball for a run-scoring single.
"We were the better team," crowed Frost.
Nova Scotia's record now stands at 22-20, placing them third in the Third League.
