Samorukov Excels in 6-5 Thunder Bay Win
|
The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC and Cape Coral Hurricanes obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.
Thunder Bay right fielder Fiers Samorukov picked up 4 ribbies while helping his team beat back the Cape Coral Hurricanes, 6-5. Marx Lieftink, 2-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. Jack Peters finished to wrap up his 1st save.
Had Samorukov not come through in the bottom of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Samorukov hit a 3-run home run. The Northern Lions BC took the lead, 6-5, and never looked back.
"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Samorukov told the Thunder Bay Times.
Thunder Bay is now 16-29, while Cape Coral is 24-21.
