With left fielder Christian Weaver leading the charge, the Charleston Battery defeated the Kingston Ponies, 11-2, at Charleston Armory. Weaver, who is on pace for 73 RBI this season, went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5. Pham Phung, the winner, improved to 7-2. He held the Ponies to no runs on 4 hits over 7.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Charleston now has a record of 31-19 with the win.

With Charleston leading 4-0 in the bottom of the third, Weaver batted against Kingston pitcher Anthon Arents. Weaver hit a sinker to right for a 3-run home run. His 12th home run of the season put the Battery on top, 7-0.

"I think it speaks for itself, I think we came out and we played our kind of baseball," said Weaver.
