Late Offense Lifts Nova Scotia to 5-2 Victory
|
The Nova Scotia Leviathan downed the Cape Coral Hurricanes, 5-2. The hitting star was catcher Stan Bynings. Bynings went 3 for 3 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Leviathan. Tony Powell nailed down the save. The Nova Scotia winning streak has reached 3 games.
Bynings had a game-changing triple in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-1 sinker from Lawrence Higgins, he banged a 2-run triple to right, giving the Leviathan a 4-2 lead. It was the 1st triple of the year for Bynings.
"See ball, hit ball. When I think too much, that's when I get in trouble," Bynings told the Nova Scotia Chronicle.
