Phung Lays Hammer Down in 3-1 Win
|
The Charleston Battery got a magnificent effort from pitcher Pham Phung, who kept Dayton hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Battery win at Charleston Armory. Juan Carlos Mejía earned save number 13 this season. The loss makes Dayton 36-21.
Phung made it look effortless. He scattered 3 hits over 8.1 innings, while racking up 10 strikeouts. The Charleston right-hander encountered little resistance from the Dayton hitters. His season record is now 8-1.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Phung said.
