Fading Rock City Lose 8th Straight
|
The Panama City Piranhas used the hitting of first baseman Oscar Worthy to subdue the Detroit Rock City, 7-5. For the game, Worthy slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The slumping Rock City have lost 8 straight.
Worthy had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a full count fastball from Carlos Rosado, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Piranhas a 7-5 lead. It was the 15th home run of the year for Worthy.
"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Worthy told the Panama City Chronicle.
