Dirty Reds Win, 7-5, in Extra Frames
Xavier Ortíz was instrumental in his team's 7-5, extra-inning triumph over the St. Louis Coeur. The designated hitter was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs for the Dayton Dirty Reds. Dayton reliever Steve King picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Johnny Flannery took the loss. Ioachime Yakutin earned the save, his 3rd, for the Dirty Reds.

Dayton used the timely hitting of Roberto Soto to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Dirty Reds on top, 7-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Soto told the Dayton Herald.

Dayton is now 40-23, St. Louis 42-21.
