Dayton 43-26 After 5-2 Win Over Thunder Bay
The Dayton Dirty Reds defeated the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 5-2, in Menard's Third League action at Lang Park. Dayton pitcher Eric Talley had a standout performance. The winner was Talley. He threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Ben Sackett. Steve King closed the game out for Dayton, earning his 11th save.

The Dirty Reds got an important contribution from left fielder Roberto Soto, who in the bottom of the fifth punched a 1-1 fastball to center for a run-scoring double. It was his 11th double of the season and put the Dirty Reds ahead, 4-2.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Talley said in reaction to the win.

After today's action, Dayton sits at 43-26; Thunder Bay slips to 39-30.
