Keith Hernández powered the St. Louis Coeur to a win over the Panama City Piranhas. The final score was 7-6. The St. Louis shortstop was phenomenal. He stroked 2 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 1 double. Dan Hewitt went 7 innings, allowing 6 runs on 5 hits. The right-hander, who is tied for 8th in the 3L in innings pitched with 101.1, struck out 7 and walked 4. With the win, he's now 7-4 this season. Lander Vardoulakis earned the save for St. Louis, his 3rd of the year.

Chia-ch'ing Chen cracked a home run off Carlos Heath in the top of the fifth. His 2-run blast put the Coeur on top, 4-3. In all, Chen had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 5.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Hernández told the St. Louis News. "It's as simple as that."

The Coeur sport a record of 46-23.
