Oakland Loses Again, 3-0
|
In a tight tilt between Charleston and Oakland, pitcher Pablo Valentín was a key contributor. The right-hander earned accolades for his standout performance in the 3-0 Battery win. Juan Carlos Mejía recorded his 20th save for Charleston. The second-place Battery have won 6 in a row.
Charleston used the hitting of Wilbert Bradley to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the second inning to put the Battery on top, 1-0. For the game, Bradley had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Valentín. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
