Piranhas Stymied by Leviathan, Gunther
|
Ron Gunther, who is tied for 6th in the 3L with a 1.12 WHIP, was terrific for the Nova Scotia Leviathan in his team's 6-0 triumph over the Panama City Piranhas. His performance earned Gunther rave reviews. Tony Powell notched his 4th save in 5 chances. After today's action, Nova Scotia sits at 38-34; Panama City slips to 35-37.
Gunther scattered 3 hits over 7 innings for the Leviathan. With the win, Gunther goes to 7-2 on the year with 68 strikeouts.
"Ron is a tough competitor," said Nova Scotia manager Tyler Studebaker.
