Buckhead parlayed a decent outing from starter Lloyd McGlory into a solid win over the Oakland Oaks. The final score was 4-3. Ed House closed it out for his 15th save. At 35-39, the Bowties are currently 6th in the Third League.

Héctor Chávez was 1 for 3 for Buckhead. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Chávez had a clutch at-bat. Facing Oakland hurler Craig Smith, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Bowties a 4-3 lead.

After the game, Buckhead manager Kerry Hofmeister applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
