Dirty Reds Lose to Ponies in Walk-Off
|
Dayton got a valiant performance from pitcher Daryl Crawford, but it wasn't enough to beat the Kingston Ponies. Kingston won the game, 5-2. Crawford threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. The 'W' lifts Kingston's record to 31-44.
Mitsuo Suzuki played the role of hero for Kingston. In the bottom of the ninth, he launched a grand slam home run off Steve King to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was the decisive blow.
"This place was rocking at the end," Suzuki said.
