Richland Slaps 8-7 Loss on Toledo
|
Eric Riedy did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Toledo Saboteurs from being beaten, 8-7, to the Richland Rails at Rails Ballpark. Riedy went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Richard Stevenson came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed 4 runs on 5 hits in 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 3-0. Richland's record now stands at 19-14, placing them third in the Menard's AA.
Will Morrison produced at a critical juncture for Richland. It happened in the bottom of the eighth with Peter Brenchley on the mound and Richland leading 7-5. That's when the 28-year old third baseman Morrison grounded out, driving in 1 run.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Richland skipper Ludovic Fontaine.
