The Memphis Mockingbirds polished off the New Orleans Voodoo by the score of 6-3. The largest share of the credit belonged to catcher Carlos Gómez. Gómez went 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Mockingbirds. The win puts the Mockingbirds at 34-38, while the Voodoo drop to 42-30.

The Mockingbirds got an important contribution from shortstop Alberto López, who in the bottom of the second punched a 2-2 curveball to left-center for a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Mockingbirds ahead, 5-0.

"I had some good swings out there," said Gómez.
