|
Behind the hitting of John Witt, the Lancaster Farmers stopped the Westwood Sixshooters, 12-7, in 10 innings. Witt was 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5 for the Farmers. Lancaster, at 13-26, occupies last place in the Menard's AA.
Lancaster used a timely hit from Jesús Ibarra to get the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Farmers ahead, 8-7. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.
"Our team showed some spunk," said Witt.
