The Toronto Thunder had to overcome a good performance from Memphis pitcher Terry Ward to claim a 1-0 win at Thunder Field. Ward went 7.1 innings and allowed no runs. Toronto goes to 45-28. The win puts them 2½ games up in their division.

Toronto got a knockout punch from Ánibal Hernández. The left fielder hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Hernández.
