Farmers Field was the site of a tense game between the Virginia Beach Whales and Lancaster Farmers.

In a tight affair between the Lancaster Farmers and the Virginia Beach Whales, pitcher David Cochrane was in the zone. The Lancaster left-hander helped his team win the game, 3-1. Rob Small recorded the save, his 2nd.

Vince Hall had a big solo home run for the Farmers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Lancaster leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Pancho Rocha and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Farmers on top, 3-1.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Lancaster skipper Young-hwan Hyon. "I can't complain."

The last-place Farmers bumped their record to 15-27.
