Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Asheville Highlanders and Yakima Hops.

The Yakima Hops got a superb performance from pitcher Alejandro Cordero, but the Asheville Highlanders still won the game, 5-4. Cordero threw 7.1 innings allowing 5 runs. Asheville reliever Tommy Woods picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Alejandro Cordero was saddled with the loss. Luis Villarreal closed it out for Asheville, earning his 4th save.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Mark Harris? The 24-year old third baseman Harris stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put Asheville up, 5-4. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.

"This team is real focused right now," said Asheville manager Chris Sanders.

The Highlanders raised their record to 28-19.
