The Pine Island Dolphins defeated the Tacoma Fur Traders, 8-4, at Ballpark of Tacoma. Pine Island was led by 20-year old second baseman Bernie Ray, who was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Pine Island pitcher Wladimir van Munster got the win. He's now 2-2. Joe Burkett was tagged with the loss. After today's action, Pine Island sits at 22-29; Tacoma slips to 30-21.

Pine Island used the timely hitting of Mark Jones to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Dolphins on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
