|
Hollywood defeated Buffalo, 7-5, in large part due to former first round draft pick Joe Saunders. Saunders drove in 3 runs. The left fielder had 1 double and 1 home run for the Shredders. Skip Lewis notched his 10th save in 13 chances. The Shredders saw their record improve to 28-46.
Esteban Ortega, who finished 5th in the PL in stolen bases with 26 last year, aided the Hollywood cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder went 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Saunders told the Hollywood Daily.
