The Asheville Highlanders defeated the Northville Eclipse, 7-5, in M3L Double A action at Old-Timers Park. Asheville pitcher Jeffery Taylor had a standout performance. Taylor got the win, improving to 3-2. He gave up 4 hits and walked 2 over 5.1 innings. He allowed 3 runs. With the win, Asheville upped its record to 36-25.

Asheville used a clutch at-bat from Carlos Chávez to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Highlanders ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Chávez told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
