The Lancaster Farmers defeated the Virginia Beach Whales, 5-3, at Virginia Beach Grounds. Lancaster shortstop Brandon Sosa had a superb performance. He was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. David Cochrane earned the win, while 24-year old left-handed pitcher Martin Sellers took the loss for Virginia Beach. Liam Fitzgerald nailed down his 9th save.

With the game tied in the top of the fifth inning, Sosa had a clutch at-bat. That's when he hit a run-scoring single to give the Farmers a 4-3 lead.

"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Sosa told the Lancaster Bulletin.

Lancaster is 28-34 and Virginia Beach, with the loss, 22-40.
