In a low-scoring contest between the Ottawa Fat Cats and the Tacoma Fur Traders, Ed Baker, who is tied for 3rd in the 3AA in complete games with 1, proved to be the difference. The Ottawa right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Fat Cats win. The winner was Baker. He threw 7.2 innings allowing 2 runs. The loser was Christian Jones. Earnest Sorensen collected his 5th save.

Center Fielder Chris Bursey made an impact for Ottawa, when he swatted a 2-run double off Christian Jones in the bottom of the fifth. For the contest, Bursey went 1 for 2 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

Tacoma manager Jeff Rutherford said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.

The 6th-place Fur Traders have lost 4 straight games.
