Stewart Silences Yakima Bats
|
Fans watched the Toledo Saboteurs and the Yakima Hops fight to the finish.
Steve Stewart was on the winning side of a pitcher's duel at Hops Park. In fact, the Toledo Saboteurs right-hander was instrumental in his team's 2-1 victory over the Yakima Hops. Christian Williams recorded the save for Toledo, his 3rd of the season.
Stewart was in the zone, shutting down Yakima hitters over 8 innings. Stewart, who threw 119 pitches, allowed 1 run on 1 hit. He also tallied 7 punchouts.
"Steve set the tone with his ability to attack the hitters," said Toledo manager Rodney Dudley.
Toledo sits in 10th place in the Menard's AA at 26-36.
