The Lancaster Farmers defeated the Richland Rails, 9-0. Doing his part was right fielder George Ayala, who went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. This win makes it 5 in a row for Lancaster.

With Lancaster leading 5-0 in the bottom of the eighth, Ayala batted against Richland pitcher Allan Lawrence. Ayala hit a fastball to left for a 3-run home run. His 9th home run of the season put the Farmers on top, 8-0.
