The Ottawa Fat Cats got a superb performance from pitcher Ed Baker, but the Asheville Highlanders still won the game, 4-3. Baker threw 7.2 innings of 3-hit ball. Asheville reliever Allen Cates picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Ed Baker absorbed the loss. Cheng-gong Mok recorded the save for Asheville, his 1st of the season.

Asheville used the timely hitting of Tyler Romero to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Highlanders on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Asheville manager Chris Sanders was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.

The Highlanders sit in 4th place in the Menard's AA with a record of 38-29.
